I have the honor of hosting a bridal shower for my cousin-in-law. I am so excited and want the event to be filled with DIY, so I can share some of my projects with you all. My first, the invitations! I wanted vintage, country, and elegant all in one! So when I decided to make these I think they meet all the categories perfectly. So here is how I did them.....
What you will need
- printer
- Cardstock/ envelope kit {purchased mine at hobby lobby for 3.50! Used the 40% off coupon}
- paper doilies {purchased mine at a thrift store} {they are available at joanns}
- scissors
- twine/jute
{See pictures of steps below} First I designed the layout of the invitation in www.picmonkey.com. This program is quiet easy to use and has a lot of different font and designs! I printed them out in a 4 x 6 format. Then I took the paper doilie and folded it in half, and placed it on the left side of the invitation. Then I took the jute/twine and tied a bow around the invitations directly in the middle of the invite. Next I cut the remainder of the doily off on the top and bottom of the invites so that it wasn't sticking out. I placed the invite in the envelope and sent them off to the guests. I love the results and they only cost $7 to make! I definitly wouldn't of been able to go to the store and find something so cute! ;)
